WordPress Designer Skills Assesment

Dear Applicant,

Thanks again for your interest in the Website Designer position at Infront Webworks. We appreciate your application and would like to assess your skills in using WordPress for website design.

To move forward in the application process, we kindly request you to complete the following WordPress and Divi Theme Skills Test. This test is designed to evaluate your basic proficiency in cPanel and WordPress and your ability to use the Divi Theme.

This test will ask you to use cPanel to set up a fresh WordPress site, use WordPress to install the Divi theme and use Divi and WordPress editor to build a couple pages and posts.

Instructions:

  1. Download the Divi theme
    1. Click here to view the download files for this test https://wptest.pagecafe.com
    2. Click the divi.zip file to download the zip files to your computer
  2. Use cPanel to set up a new copy of WordPress using WordPress Manager by Softaculous. We have prepared an empty hosting account for you to install WordPress.
    1. Website URL: https://wptest.pagecafe.com/
    2. cPanel link: https://usng01.directrouter.com:2083/ Username: wptest Password: wordpresstest2023
    3. Use Softaculous to install WordPress into the root directory. For the WordPress admin credentials, use “awesomeadmin” and password “wordpresstest2023” Choose any theme (you will be installing the Divi theme next FYI).
    4. Choose any name for the site. Funny is fine.
    5. Remaining tasks are performed in the WordPress Dashboard FYI.
  3. Install the Divi theme
    1. Login to the WordPress dashboard using the above credentials
    2. Add the Divi.zip theme to the website and activate
  4. Build a homepage using the Divi builder
    1. Create and publish a new page. Use WordPress to make this page the static home page.
    2. Edit and publish the page with the Divi editor
    3. As you create the page, use any images and text you want. Making it fun or goofy is fine!
    4. Add sections, rows and modules to the page to give the page
      1. Hero banner with an H1 sentence and a button that links to infront.com
      2. Services section with 3 columns and blurb in each column
      3. Contact form using Divi contact form module
  5. Build a Blog page and posts
    1. Create 2 or 3 posts, giving each a title and simple text and image if desired. Don’t use Divi to build these page, rather just use the default WordPress editor.
    2. Create and publish a new Divi page, make the title and URL /blog/
    3. Use Divi to add the Blog module to the page
    4. Configure the blog module to use the Grid layout to display the posts you created.
  6. Use WordPress to create a menu with links to the home and blog pages
    1. Call the menu “mainmenu”
    2. Take the necessary steps to display the menu on your site
